King & Queen, part 2

by Pete Bissonette

A client wrote me on Friday after reading Thursday's post about using Diamond Feng Shui to be the king or queen of your life. He said,

”A few years ago I bought Marie's course. I only did three things I learned from the first CD, and had to put the course down because I had so much going on. A couple of months later I picked it up when I realized what a huge change those three things made for me. The three things related to being the king of my life, just like what Marie said on Thursday. I think that is one of the most important principles in the course. First – My desk had always been facing a wall. I could never see the door, and I always felt people were sneaking up on me when they would come into my office. I was startled many times. All of the desks at our office face the wall. It took an act of congress, but I got permission to move mine so that it faced the door. What a difference it made!! First, I felt I was more focused and that was confirmed when my boss casually mentioned how much more work I had been getting done. I didn't feel like as I was working any harder. Second, I felt I was getting more respect from the other employees. I don't think I was liked any more or any less, but I think I was treated better. Second – I moved my bed to a different wall so that I could see the door when I was in bed. I noticed that I wasn't getting up to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night, which I had been doing three or more nights a week. I was sleeping all of the way through except maybe one night a week. That was a big improvement for me. Third – I moved my favorite recliner in the family room into a position so that I could see everything in the room. That's where I read and watch TV. I don't know if my TV watching got any better, but I've read more books! Maybe it is because I feel more comfortable in that position and it is easier to stay tuned into my reading. Like I said, once I realized how powerful that King concept was, I got out Marie's course, and did almost everything she suggested. The two biggest benefits since then would have to be that I survived all of the cuts at work and I am happier now more than ever. Many people have commented how much they like being in my home. It has always been 'decluttered,' so that's not it, but for some reason the energy is better!"

I wrote back with another tip: be like the King whenever you are away from your office for meetings, at restaurants, and at friends' homes. Be in the king's position. Try it yourself. See what you notice. Do you feel differently? Do others treat you differently? Once you get that down, play with your Personal Energy Numbers, which are also on the first CD of the course. They will help you determine the direction that is the best direction to face at any given time. This is based on energies associated with your birthdate and gender.

After I learned about the Personal Energy Numbers and the "best directions" and "not so good directions," I went back and looked at the direction of my desk in various offices throughout my professional lifetime. In every single case where I experienced the most success, I was facing one of my best directions. And in every single case where I struggled (or failed), I was facing one of the other directions. I've had four offices at Learning Strategies through the last 25 years. Three have been facing East and one North, and those are very good directions for me. I could have been sitting in my least good directions of Northeast, Southwest, West, or Northwest, but luckily for all of us I wasn't! (And yes, I'm writing this from home, and I am facing East.)
