We acquired the books, and devoured them

The language of the books is a bit arcane--remember, they were written in
the early 1900s, but it is downright fascinating, quite entertaining, and
carries a message that is profound and life altering. It is written for the
development, cultivation, and manifestation of all phases, aspects, and
modes of manifestation and expression.

In other words, it tells you how to have it all. It does so in a way that is
clear, beyond the shadow of a doubt.

I remember hearing the following maxim back when I was 21: Whatever you
vividly imagine, ardently desire, sincerely believe, enthusiastically act
upon, must inevitably come to pass.

Years went by of me vividly imagining, ardently desiring, sincerely
believing, and enthusiastically acting, but I was getting no where. It
wasn´t working. But once I started enjoying successes I realized I had
previously no concept of "ardent desire." I realized I had not "sincerely
believed" hard enough. My "enthusiastic actions" were half- hearted at best.
I thought I was doing it all right, but I was wrong. I was working on four
cylinders when I needed eight--only I didn’t know I needed eight.

That maxim is fun. It contains the keys to success. But it does not tell you
how to turn the keys, nor how to use the keys to start the engine.
