First learn it yourself and be confident with the system.
At 9 she probably hasn't got the vocabulary to successfully use the system yet. She will need to do some more traditional reading to build her vocabulary.
That said, you can still teach her, learn along with her, the steps of the system. Let her learn along with you. Though I recommend completing the course yourself first. Kids can surprise you and hit the adult ego by picking up the system with more ease.
