Can someone explain the role of the use (or lack thereof) of your conscious mind during the photoreading stage? Sometimes I will have a genereal purpose (like "comprehend this book more") then go into photofocus and flip through pages while keeping attention on the back of my head. But on occasion my mind will drift or i will talk to someone but ill still be maintaining a divergent gaze and keeping attention in the back of my head. I know this is not an ideal method, but i still feel that im absorbing some information

During PhotoReading you conscious mind is one upset puppy that wants something to do because you're taking it's traditional job away that it's been doing since you learned to read.

PhotoReading is *not* a conscious effort.
