The Silver Feng Sui course arrived yesterday, and I listened to the first 2 CDs and watched the Essentials DVD. It does all seem incredibly complicated so I’m glad of the comments yesterday about taking it slowly. What I’m more concerned about is all the contradictions.

With the head of my bed in my ‘success’ direction, I have my back to the door. So what to do ?

Two of my ‘good’ directions are opposite - health in SW and relationships in NE - does that mean I have to choose between good health and good relationships ?

From the centre of my house, the front door in is my ‘success’ direction, NW, but it actually faces one of my weak directions, N, so is it strong or weak ?

My house is very much oriented to looking out of the windows (both my elements are Earth, and being in contact with nature is very important to me) (interesting that in western astrology I’m also an Earth person). But if I sit in the ‘power’ position in each room I would have my back to the windows, which would not make me happy at all.

Though I will say that I changed my cello playing position to facing NW, my success direction, and unusually practiced without being assailed by doubts, so it will be good to see if that continues !

As a quilter I find this an inspiration source to make a little wall hanging for each direction portraying the items needed to support that direction.

Mnay thanks for your comments, and best wishes
Lisanne

I think you should have the bed facing one of the other good directions because it's bad to have your back to the door even if it's your good direction...

I'm a fire element in Chinese astrology and a small metal element in feng shui. In western astrology I'm an earth sign.. I've always liked metal and earth and I love the smell of tar on the streets..and the smell of soil.

My success direction is NW also. If your house faces north that's not a good direction for you. My house faces south 3, which is not a good direction for me. So in the living room, you'll have to activate your direction over your door or, on your door, maybe right next to the door? NW in my house is the bathroom. No wonder my success always seemed to go down the drain!.
Now I keep the bathroom door closed and I feel somewhat better..

You can have your bed facing any of your four best directions. You will be activating all four with your activation cards.

In the "Time" Feng Shui later on in Level Three you'll see how the sector the door is in (NW according to you)can be inauspicious or not. What Marie is referring to in the Essencial's course, is the "facing" direction of the door. If you are actually facing N when standing on it's threshold look out, then that is not an auspicious front door for you. So take your time and situate your bed & desk to face one ofyour best directions, place your activation cards, and take one facet at a time in the Level One part of yoru course.

Look first at th flow of the energy into the room as shown in the Essentials course. There are usually a variety of ways to set up one's furniture.

Shawn,

What is the most auspiscious direction for a front door to face, the owner's best direction or is it south east, even if it's someone's worst direction it would be lucky for them because it's the best direction for a front door to face?? Thanks.

aloHA Mayflowers,

Thats a fun question on so many levels.

Let me brush over it with pointing out that Marie mentions it it beneficial to have it facing one of the major breadwinner's best direction, unless they and their spouse are from the West and East groups and their bed can only fit in one of the major breadwinner's best directions (so the split the day and night Qi). Then there is Time Feng Shui, where depending on the period and specific direction of the front door, it and be advantageous, or not. And lets not leave out our landscape friends...it may be a a great front door in the first two examples, but lets say there is a large tree in front of it, and perhaps a gorge or cliff in back (no Phoenix-no support).

SO you work with what you have, and if you have the option to build, take into consideration their Personal Feng Shui as shown in the Essentials course, Landscape and Space Feng Shui in Levels One and Two, and the Time Feng Shui in Level Three.

Is there always more little nuances to consider? yes, and these three can go a long way.

Much Love, Shawn
