I have recently picked up the Photoreading book and found it very interesting. I haven't had any results as yet, but then I haven't had time to sit down and get into it. The main problem I have with it so far is that I have a very short attention span. The slightest noise distracts me from reading. Is there anything I can do that will help me concentrate more (short of kicking everyone out of the house when I want to read)?

Get into the accelerated learning state and you won't have any problems with distractions.

If you have a short attention span and are easily distracted ... some suggestions could be to ...

Stating a purpose to 'want' to read helps. Have you ever tried reading a book you did not want too? Chances are you quickly put it down within a few minutes because there is no 'drive' to 'want' to read!

During the PR stage, when affirming, state "As I photoread, my concentration is absolute" Saying is one thing, believing the importance of this statement is another. When stating the above ... envision yourself PhotoReading with absolute concentration.

Know that tilting of head and flipping of pages helps to keep state.

Most importantly, I'll say it again. Most importantly go easy on yourself and have fun with the process ... success is the result of continuously trying!!!

If you want the information in the book, then you will get through it. Maybe you have this 'perceived' short attention span for a very good reason.

Just go easy on yourself.. how? It seems to me that you are a very curious individual, what if you used you attentin span to spur on your curiosity about the book and the process. Whilst your checking out whatever has distracted you, what gems and changes are yo missing out on from not reading the book... NOW!

Finally, maybe change the time that you read the book. If the information and learning the process is important to you or even sparking your fantastic curiosity, get up earlier or read later when everybody else has gone to bed.

All good suggestions! Thanks for your help. The problem is, I've got a family who tend to voice their every thought! It's very annoying and VERY distracting. Perhaps I'll have to try photoreading when the rest of them are out!
