Helping Others to Heal
Level 1 teaches how to awaken and use your natural healing ability using Qigong.
Chinese medicine holds that sickness, pain, and other health problems are caused when Qi energy is blocked. Qigong practice removes blocks and increases the flow of energy through your body. When energy flows freely, Qi energy heals and restores the body.
In Level 1 you learned how Qigong practice and meditation can help you automatically remove blockages in yourself, balance your energy, and bring in more fresh, rejuvenating energy. You also learned the basics of giving other people fresh energy by breaking up and removing their blockages.
Level 2 teaches how to use Qigong to help your friends and family heal themselves.
You will learn how to detect blockages in others. In Level 1 you worked only on areas that harbor symptoms. Here you learn that actual blockages are often in a different part of the body from their symptoms. For instance, did you know that you can help clear up skin problems by working on the lungs?
I have personally attended classes in different kinds of Qigong. I discovered that unlike the others, Spring Forest Qigong puts the healing power back in your own hands. Most teachers presented the exercises with little explanation. They did not even mention how to send out energy to help others heal. If you want to help others, they say you need to practice Qigong for five or ten years first.
You can use Spring Forest Qigong techniques to help others in the very same day you receive your course. Immediately. You do not need years of practice.
Plus, when you help your friends heal, you help them physically, spiritually, and emotionally. All at the same time.
Spring Forest Qigong is unique, and Chunyi Lin is a master. Most of his students call him "Master Lin." I refer to him in this letter by his given name so that you understand he is as human as you and I. Qigong is something he learned, and you can learn it, too. You do not need special talents; the gifts you already possess are enough to succeed with these healing practices. Chunyi Lin has even done most of the work for you by developing a form of Qigong that is accessible, practical, thorough, and effective.
• Four new Active Exercise movements ...for improved healing
Level 2 has four new movements that aid in helping your family and friends heal.
1) Sword Fingers helps you increase your ability to send energy through your Sword Fingers to break up blockages in other people, as well as yourself.
2) Thunder Palms helps you increase your ability to put abundant fresh energy in your friend's body.
3) 10,000 Hands helps you develop the purity and depth of your energy, which can significantly improve your ability to help your friends heal.
4) Cloud Hands helps you increase your ability to remove blockages from your friend's body.
You can alternate your practice of these new movements with the movements of your Level 1 practice.
When you can feel the energy during your Level 1 practice, and when you have seen some improvement in your own physical condition, you can replace the Level 1 practice with Level 2 practice.
Practice of Level 2 exercise will continue to improve your physical condition as well as strengthen your ability to help someone else heal.
• Virtual Compass ...for faster results
Each time that you practice Spring Forest Qigong, there is a direction to face in which you can get into the emptiness faster and receive more energy faster. This direction will vary from person to person and from time to time. Chunyi Lin will teach you how to align your body as a Virtual Compass so that you always know the best direction to face while doing Qigong practice or meditation.
• Sitting Postures
Chunyi Lin, as well as all advance Qigong meditators, sits in the Lotus Position during Sitting Meditations. While this is not necessary in Level 1 or Level 2, it can greatly enhance your experience as you advance your skills and develop your energy. You may wish to begin sitting in the lotus position now. He teaches simple exercises so that you can be sitting in the lotus position within a couple of months.
Chunyi says he prefers sitting in the lotus position even when watching television. What about me? I'm not there yet, but soon! His father, who is in his 70s, learned to sit in the lotus position recently. With the techniques Chunyi suggests, he says almost everyone can learn the lotus.
• Hand Posture ...to close out "negative" energy
There is a special way to hold your hands to protect yourself from "negative" energy, other people's energy, fear, and even cold. It not only keeps other energy out but also keeps your energy from draining.
Minnesota winters can be cold. If I ever get the chills, I simply use this one posture, and the chills subside, almost immediately.
